As the mosque is located in Kusumba village, it is named Kusumba Shahi Masjid after this village. Another name for the locals is Kalapahar. According to historians, the Kusumba Mosque is a unique example of Muslim architecture. As far as is known, the mosque was built by a Muslim convert named Sabar Khan or Sulayman during the reign of Ghiyasuddin Bahadur Shah, the last ruler of the Shur dynasty of Afghani rule in 966 Hijri or 1558 to 1569 AD.   Grave of Shah Niamat Ullah Wali     Introduction : Today I am introducing you to a very special person and his tomb or mausoleum who was a famous preacher of Islam in the Middle Ages. His name is Shah Syed Neyamatullah , he preached Islam in various places of Chapainawabganj in present day Gaur, Bangladesh. His ancestors belonged to the Banu Asad clan of Makkah. They came to India to spread Islam. He came to Rajmahal from Karoniar in Delhi during the reign of Sultan Shah Shuja to preach the religion.
